Burks, Almeta "Ninny", 87, of Louisville, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at her residence.

She was a homemaker and long-time member of Pond Creek Baptist Church. She loved her family and loved to cook for her family! Almeta was well known for her biscuits and gravy!

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, David Burks; daughters, Mary Madden and Anita Faye Burks; and sons, Donald Ray Burks and David Cass Burks. She is survived by her daughters, Almeta Davis (Joey), Susan Lindsey, Deborah Smith, Patricia Arthur (Linda) and Diana Cook (Mike); son, Charles Burks (Anita); sister, Roberta Cain; 29 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and 46 great-great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ratterman Grand Chapels, 4832 Cane Run Road (Terry Road at the Greenbelt) with burial in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be noon – 8 p.m. Monday.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
