Margaret Ruth (Sorrell), went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2013.

She was born March 21, 1918 to Joe and Katie Sorrell of Cedar Creek, KY near Bardstown. She was married to Robert L. "Buck" Kennedy for over 50 years until he passed away in 1988.

Ruth lived a full rewarding life and always kept her faith in God and her love for family first. During WWII she was a Rosie the Riveter at the Curtiss Wright Aircraft plant in Louisville. She was a terrific homemaker who also found time to be active in church life.

She worked in the florist business in Louisville for over thirty years. More recently she lived in Bardstown and was member of Bardstown Baptist Church.

She was also predeceased by six brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her three sons, Ken (Jeanie) of Jacksonville, FL; Dan (Debby) of Cox's Creek and David (Sherry) of Louisville; six grandchildren, Dr. Robert Kennedy (Amy) of Ann Arbor, MI; Becky Souza (Dave) of Houston, TX; Scott Kennedy (Valerie) of Cox's Creek, KY; Casey Kennedy (Stephanie) of Bardstown, KY; Dr. Amy Bindner (David) of Louisville and Kara Disibio (Marty) of Louisville and 14 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanie King of Bardstown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville, followed by burial in Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Bardstown. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
