Gerard James "Jerry", 87, of Louisville passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2013.

He was born July 15, 1926, the son of the late Harold Andrew Cripe and Mary Nettie Cissell Cripe. Jerry was an employee for General Electric for over 35 years in the data processing department.

He was a member of the Church of the Epiphany and a former member of Knights of Columbus Assumption Council #4473. He was a KY Colonel, an Army Veteran having served during WWII and was an avid golfer and member of Seneca Golf Course.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Cecil Cripe.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley Jean (Miller) Cripe; children, Barbara Calhoun (Gil), Jim (Margie), Stuart (Debbie), Richard (Denise), Robert (Elaine), Brian Cripe and Donna Lampton (Paul); 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Friday at Church of the Epiphany, 904 Old Harrods Creek Road followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville.

Memorial gifts in the form of contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and Church of the Epiphany.
